Gheorghe Muresan – 7’7″ – Basketball

Gheorghe Muresan was born in Romania in 197. At an impressive 7’7”, he’s tied with Manute Bol as the tallest basketball player in the history of NBA. More impressively, he’s still the tallest person in the whole European Union!

Now retired, Muresan earned the NBA’s Most Improved Player distinction in 1996. And while his basketball career wasn’t as great as the man himself, Muresan proved to be a solid center while playing for the New Jersey Nets and the Maryland Nighthawks. He also played in the Romanian basketball league and on the French side Pau-Orthez.
