Urban Quicksand

This woman was wearing shorts and flip-flops on her way to the store when she got stuck. All it took was a moment of distraction for her to realize that she was standing on top of the urban equivalent of quicksand: fresh concrete!
Concrete typically takes up to 48 hours (and at least a day) to dry. If people, animals, or vehicles walk on top of cement before that, it will most likely crack or be left with prints. If stuck to one’s shoes, wet concrete can be very hard to remove—as the woman in the picture has tragically found out.
