Raising Agent 101

In the exciting world of baking, a raising agent is a chemical that causes cakes to expand while cooking. One of the most common raising agents is baking powder, which is a mix of bicarbonate of soda and cream of tartar. But what happens when a cake batter contains too much raising agent?
