Vanessa Hudgens As Agnes ‘Apple’ Bailey

Vanessa Hudgens is best remembered for her teen movies and romantic features. Her filmography is more diverse than that, though. And her starring role in the 2013 independent drama Gimme Shelter proves that. In the film, she played a pregnant teenager struggling with homelessness.

The role was challenging enough, but Hudgens pushed herself to commit mentally and physically to the film. She chopped her long locks, gained 15 pounds, and spent time with women in similar situations to study for the role. These days, though, she’s busy with new but different challenges playing three characters in her latest film, The Princess Switch: Switch Again.
