Ariel Winter As Alex Dunphy

Ariel Winter literally grew up before our eyes as she played Alex Dunphy on Modern Family for over a decade. But although audiences saw her have fun with her TV clan, she was actually battling her own family behind the scenes. In fact, things got so bad that her mother lost custody of her when she was 15.

Thankfully, that didn’t affect her performance as the Dunphys’ brainiac middle child. Add to that is the fact that Winter styles herself differently than her typically conservatively dressed character. She’s just as intelligent, though, having gotten into the University of California, Los Angeles in 2017.
