Linda Cardellini As Velma Dinkley

Playing the nerdy Velma Dinkley was a childhood dream come true for Linda Cardellini. So, we’re not surprised to hear that she took her auditions seriously to nab the part. Being a fan of the Scooby-Doo cartoons herself, she went to the castings dressed up as Velma, complete with the orange outfit and eyeglasses pair.

Sure she felt silly at first, especially after seeing she was the only one who came in character, but all that didn’t matter when she won the role. Scooby-Doo became the first big-budget film she worked on. Cardellini would return later on to play Velma again in the Scooby-Doo sequel in 2004.
