Salma Hayek As Frida Kahlo

As a Mexican herself, Frida Kahlo is an influential figure for Salma Hayek. No wonder she went to great lengths to produce and star in Frida, a 2002 film chronicling Kahlo’s remarkable life. Donning Kahlo’s colorful traditional clothes and signature monobrow, Hayek brought the painter to life once again.
Her physical and emotional transformation even earned Hayek an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. But all this came at a price. In 2018, she revealed how Harvey Weinstein, owner of the production company that made Frida, harassed her while making the film.
