A Journey Down History: Famous Historic Figures And What They Would Look Like Today

Louis XIV

Louis XIV, dubbed as either Louis the Great or the Sun King, was the King of France between 1643 and 1715. His 72-year long reign is the longest that any European monarch has been in position. Even though he is known for the aggressive foreign policy, we guess it was worth it as he brought prosperity and fortune to the nation, making it very dominant in Europe.

Louis XIV was married twice during his 76-year long life, during which he fathered 17 children. However, most of them were illegitimate children. After having several health concerns over the years, Louis XIV passed away from gangrene on September 1, 1715.
