Caligula

He may have gone down in history as Caligula, but he was named Gaius Caesar at birth on August 31, AD 12. He succeeded Tiberius, who, during his reign, wrongfully imprisoned prisoners. However, after Caligula stepped into power, he freed them and also got rid of an unpopular tax.
According to his biography, Caligula often threw fancy parties and hosted games and shows. However, his personality changed after battling an illness that almost killed him. Since then, he was considered cruel and authoritarian and is remembered for ruling by inflicting fear and terror in the people. His reign ended with his death (caused by multiple stabs) in AD 41.
