To Hana’s surprise, the bear seemed to sense her calm. Its growls faded into uneasy whimpers, and it began to relax. The immediate danger had passed, and for the first time since it had entered, Hana allowed herself to breathe. The antiseptic smell in the room mixed with a fresh wave of resolve.
She had to move quickly. Slipping out of the room, she raced down the hospital corridors, her heart hammering in her chest. The building was chaos—people running, fear in their eyes. After what felt like an eternity, she found a group of doctors. She didn’t hesitate—she urged them to check on the bear. Time was running out.
