The rush of adrenaline from the chaos outside was nothing compared to the wave that hit Hana next. Her heart pounded loud enough to drown out everything else. The bear stood right in front of her, its massive body intimidating yet strangely calm.

But it wasn’t the bear’s size or the danger that kept her frozen. It was what it was carrying. Without wasting a second, Hana took action. She managed to lure the bear into a nearby room and slammed the door shut. The click of the lock sent a shiver down her spine. It was just her, the bear, and whatever it was holding.
