Echoes from the Depths

The cries grew sharper as they moved through the thick trees, leading them to an old, crumbling well hidden by time and overgrowth. It didn’t take long to realize something had fallen in. The sounds echoed upward, desperate and haunting. The bear stood beside it, eyes fixed on Hana and Peter, silently urging them to act.
Hana leaned over the edge, chilled by the damp air rising from the darkness. They couldn’t see much, but the cries told them enough. Peter pulled out a rope, ready to go down. She hesitated. Her hands trembled. But when he started lowering himself, she held firm, every muscle tight with determination and trust.
