Colin Powell – $60 million

American politician Colin Powell was a statesman, diplomat, and retired four-star U.S. Army officer who had a value of $60 million at the time of his death in October 2021. He became the first male African-American U.S. Secretary of State for George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005.
Powell’s term under Bush was highly controversial. He was instrumental in building the argument for the invasion of Iraq. Eventually, it came to light he made false claims that dictator Saddam Hussein was continuing to produce weapons of war. Soon after Bush’s re-election in 2004, Powell handed in his resignation and was replaced with Condoleeza Rice.
