You know how these things go: since the American politician Bernie Sanders is a self-described “Democratic Socialist” who believes in taxing the rich, he’s often criticized for being a millionaire himself. His net worth sits anywhere between $2 million and $3 million (according to disparate sources), but how did he manage to get this rich?

In Sanders’s own words, he got rich because he published a best-selling book!
