The late American politician/civil rights advocate Elijah Cummings was a hardworking public servant who stayed in office until the year of his passing. From 1996 until 2019, Cummings represented Maryland’s 7th district in the United States House of Representatives. When he left us, he had a reported net worth of $1.3 million.

Honored in the “Dangerman 2019 Hero Awards,” Cummings is particularly beloved in his native city of Baltimore, where he spent the entirety of his life. In 2021, the Baltimore Design School opened a new media center dedicated to his memory.
