According to sources, the acting bug bit actress Melanie Paxson in high school after she appeared in spring plays and musicals. She further honed her talent by training with the Second City Training Center and Steppenwolf Theatre Company. That probably came in handy when auditioning for “the Voice of Reason” in Gladware commercials, besting at least 500 women.

Paxson is also recognizable for starring in DayQuil advertisements. As for her acting portfolio, she dipped her toes into TV when she appeared in “Early Edition” before landing a recurring character in “Cupid.” Since then, the actress has become a bit player in many shows, including “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”
