Back in 2013, Tom Hanks revealed that he was no longer doing roles that required a drastic change in his weight after he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. According to Hanks, unhealthy eating might diet could be the cause of his diagnosis. Since he was already heavy, he didn’t resort to exercising and when he would ask other actors to do the same, they also wouldn’t want to take on roles that required weight loss again. Fortunately, his next project is Toy Story 4 which will be released in 2019, and since it’s an animated film, his appearance doesn’t matter that much for the role.
