Designated Press Area

To be a journalist in 1969 meant you had to actually move your body and physically go wherever your story takes you. With nothing but stationary phones to communicate with friends, family, and colleagues, these journalists were basking in the vibe and sounds of the festival at the designated press area while working on new reports.
Unlike music festivals nowadays, the Woodstock Festival designated press area was very modest. But these journalists didn’t care; they knew they were witnessing history and were probably happy enough the festivals’ organizers provided a couple of chairs and landlines. Sadly, they were not so worried about making a mess and polluting the ground.
