Powerful Songs

Singer-songwriter Tim Hardin was one of Woodstock‘s top performers. The author of the legendary hit song If I Were a Carpenter, Tim took the Woodstock stage with nothing but his guitar and a back-up band and impressed the audience with a set of well-written folk songs.
Hardin’s status in the music industry back in the day was so important that most of the period’s greatest stars have at some point covered his songs—including Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Neil Young, Johnny Cash, and Robert Plant. Sadly, Hardin passed away in 1980 at the age of 39 following a lethal drug overdose.
