What a Crowd!

Music concerts with thousands of people are very common nowadays, but not even in the world’s biggest stadiums will you see a crowd like the one shown above. There was an impressive ocean of heads in front of the main stage as singer-songwriter Richie Havens performed his soul-inspired pop-folk songs.

Havens was the festival’s opening act, and he was lucky enough to find a jam-packed venue. Considered a “Woodstock icon”, Richie passed away in 2013 after suffering a heart attack at age 72. His life and work were indelibly marked by his outstanding Woodstock performance.
