Joe Cocker Delivered a Passionate Performance

The late Joe Cocker was one of the many musicians whose career benefited greatly from a spot at the Woodstock Festival‘s main stage. On the fourth and last day of the event, Cocker stepped in front of the massive crowd and delivered a passionate blues-rock performance.

Even though Cocker was only paid $1,375 for the gig, he didn’t mind at all! In fact, he was only invited to the show thanks to the efforts of Denny Cordell, his music producer. After hearing about the festival, Denny reached out to the organizers and convinced them to give Cocker a chance—a decision they didn’t regret!
