A One-of-a-kind Show

Back in 1969, Jimi Hendrix was one of the biggest music stars on the planet; and that status rightfully earned him a headliner’s spot at the Woodstock Festival. His set was filled with energy and is often considered one of the all-time best music shows, but he wasn’t even playing with his usual band.
At the last minute, Jimi had to assemble an improvised backing group called the Gypsy Suns and Rainbows. The Woodstock show was, at that point, the biggest show of Hendrix’s career, but the late Purple Haze guitarist never appeared nervous and was able to deliver the one-of-a-kind show everybody was waiting for.
