Sleeping with The Dead

Although the ’60s were filled with new age movements and esoteric beliefs, some youngsters were so blatantly unsuperstitious that they were OK with sleeping on a graveyard. When all the other camping sites were busy, some festival-goers decided to put up their tents right next to the dead.
The Bethel locals may have found the situation crazy; but to these youngsters, the focus was on the life-filled music festival that was going on and not on the neighboring dead. One thing’s for sure: superstitious or not, the people buried in the graveyard were certainly not worried about the provisional guests.
