Aquamarine – $750,000/Kg

Perhaps our best precious stone yet, the Aquamarine, a blue to a blue-green member of the beryl tribe, is named after the color of seawater. The modern March birthstone is great for jewelry as it’s widely available and reasonably priced. It currently goes for as high as $750,000 per kg. Okay, we concede, maybe ‘reasonable’ is relative.
Nevertheless, the beauty and clarity of this item more than compensate for its high pricing. Aquamarines are famous for possessing long, hollow tubes- a distinctive feature that aids in identifying the gem as a variant of the beryl family.
