On the surface, Iridium might seem to be a very unremarkable metal. But if that were true, this substance would not be worth over two hundred thousand dollars per kilogram.
The inherent value possessed by this element comes from the fact that it is unreactive to things such as acid, and its aspect of being extremely resistant to high temperatures. Furthermore, the isotopes created from this natural structure can be used in radiation treatments to fight cancer. That obviously ups the price of this unique part of earth’s elemental makeup even more.
