Wild child Janis Joplin took the microphone in her tie-dyed bellbottoms and performed with the Kozmic Blues Band on stage for an entire hour. A lot of folks were looking forward to Joplin’s act, with her powerful vocals and captivating stage presence.

However, it is rumored that she was overwhelmed to perform for such a big audience at the time and needed liquid courage. She had been drinking heavily and using heroin backstage, which affected her slot in the gig. Sadly, the songstress died of an accidental overdose the following year.
