The Band That Played The Weight

The Band’s set was considered one of the best that weekend, where they played one of the classic “The Weight.” Some even say the group embodied the spirit of the era more than any other. Their setup on stage was different from others; they faced each other instead of towards the audience.

Before coming into their own, the group gained recognition for backing legendary singer Bob Dylan in the mid-’60s. So when they were performing at the festival, many in the crowd were asking where Dylan was. The Band is still in the music industry; they re-released their live album “Saints and Sinners” in 2021.
