New Species Alert: Doggopotamus

With rapid technological advancements, we find scientists creating hybrid animals in laboratories. In fact, according to “National Geographic,” the first successful human-animal chimera (an organism with cells from two species) was created in 2017. Knowing that makes you wonder if what you see here is a baby hippopotamus, a dog, or a hybrid of both.

For starters, a hippo-dog hybrid, a ‘doggopotamus’ if you will, doesn’t exist as of 2022. However, when this guy’s mud-covered photo appeared on “Twitter,” users were almost convinced it was a hippo calf. But we’re pretty sure it’s only a mischievous French Bulldog puppy needing an immediate bath, and there wasn’t a shortage of volunteers in the comment section.
