As President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte gets to enjoy many perks. One of them is being transported in high-class vehicles. The Presidental sedan from Mercedes-Benz has a license plate with the number ‘1’ on it. During his international duties, he will also proudly display the country’s flags. However, the President has been vocal about advising his cabinet members not to use luxury cars. 

In October 2021, Duterte announced his exit from the election and his retirement from politics altogether. BBC News speculated this move could pave the way for his daughter to step into the race.
