Former President Charles De Gaulle – Citroen DS

Former President Charles De Gaulle led France against Nazi Germany during World War II. Before his time in office, he was also an army soldier who fought in the First World War. The decorated officer was wounded many times and was taken hostage at Verdun.
Not many people know, but this politician survived over 30 assassination attempts. One of the most famous was in his Citroen DS, where a group fired over 140 gunshots at him and his wife. He lost two of his bodyguards, but the couple pulled through by ducking and diving, using the vehicle’s body for protection.
