We always feel that airplanes are controlled settings that are among the safest you’ll encounter. Bugs can lurk around the cabin whether you see them or not. Auburn University researchers discovered that E. coli could survive for days on various sections of an aircraft until a bug spray is used.

There’s also the North Carolina couple who said they saw roaches crawling from air vents and carry-on luggage during their journey and sued an airline. We haven’t heard of any spider encounters, but the photo above makes our skin crawl. We know or would like to believe that it was a bogus spider.
