The character Han Solo in Star Wars gave Harrison Ford his break in the industry followed by the title role in the Indiana Jones series of movies. Ford has appeared in five out of the top 30 highest-grossing movies at the U.S. box office, which explains why he boasts of a $230-million fortune. Six decades later and he’s still very active in the industry, and at 76, don’t expect him to take up residence at a retirement home. Ford’s upcoming list of credits includes the 2019 film Call of the Wild and an Indiana Jones sequel scheduled for release in 2021.

Paul McCartney – $1.2 Billion

Sir Paul McCartney, one of the richest recording artists in the world, has a net worth of $1.2 billion. Nearly ½ a century after The Beatles broke up, Paul remains top of the pop game selling out ballparks and arenas at will. McCartney will probably end up making more money with the release of Let It Be – a Beatles documentary that Sir Peter Jackson will direct. The director known for his work with Hobbit and Lord of the Rings claims that the production will be surprisingly personal, uplifting, and funny. We can’t wait to watch it!

The truth is that he has a fortune estimating to $8 million, and it’s all thanks to his success in mining and reality TV. As of today, you can catch him on Gold Rush: Alaska, Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail, and Gold Rush: The Dirt. He’s only 25 years old, but the total sum of everything he mined has surpassed $13 million already. Schnabel is also quite the social media celebrity, for he over 360K followers on Instagram.

Alexis Ohanian is known as the co-founder of Reddit, the popular social media website that is amongst the 20 most visited sites on the internet right now. His net worth is estimated to be $9 million, but Ohanian’s fortune, while impressive, is nothing when compared to the one of his wife, professional tennis player Serena Williams. Since the two have married in 2017, they’ve been considered to be an unlikely couple, but they’re undeniably wealthy; Ohanian and Serena’s combined estate is valued at $189 million, making them one of the richest and most famous couples in the US.

Cameron Diaz – $140 Million

Cameron Diaz has been a part of Hollywood culture since the ‘90s when she first started appearing in hit movies such as The Mask. She has also starred in many fan favorites, including Charlie’s Angels, Vanilla Sky, and There’s Something About Mary. She last appeared in the 2014 movie Annie before officially retiring from acting in 2018. Diaz still managed to maintain a rich net worth of $140 million. It’s not often the world gets to see Cameron since then. But in July 2019, she was spotted on a date night in Los Angeles with her husband, Good Charlotte lead guitarist Benji Madden.

Jack Nicholson is one of Hollywood’s A-listers whose been involved in the industry since the ’50s but it wasn’t until the ’60s that his career picked up. He went on to feature in celebrated films like Easy Rider, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Chinatown, and The Departed. Nicholson is also the most nominated male actor at the Oscars with 12 Academy Award nominations. He took a long hiatus from the industry starting 2010 but most reports suggest that he has quit acting owing to memory loss. The 81-year-old still maintains a low profile but with a $400-million fortune, he must be living comfortably in his deluxe house in Los Angeles.

Born back in 1940, Ricky Nelson took America by surprise with his talents both in acting and singing.  Songs like Travelin’ Man and I Will Follow You made his voice unforgettable while his show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet that aired between 1952 and 1966 made him a face to remember. Ricky, unfortunately, suffered a very public and messy divorce from his first wife, Kristin Harmon, with whom they had four children, that affected his total worth by a lot. He later got remarried to Helen Blair, only to separate some years later. He died at the age of 45 tragically in a plane crash.

He is affiliated with ’80s classics like Beverly Hills Cop and Pirates of the Caribbean.  A 5-time Oscar winner, his wealth has also been boosted by real estate investing. The Guinness World Records refer to her as the “Songbird Supreme” and it’s because of her noted five-octave range and signature whistle register. Interestingly, her age has also always been somewhat of a mystery, and at the moment, she could be either 49 or 50. Well, numbers don’t matter anyway when it comes to the fortune she keeps on amassing from her career as a singer/songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and record producer. In 2018, she released her fifteenth studio album dubbed Caution and commenced its subsequent world tour in February 2019. Carey hasn’t let the fact that she’s undergoing bipolar treatment slow her down one bit.

Peter Jackson – $500 Million

The world became better acquainted with New Zealand film director Peter Jackson through his work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy of films. However, before that, he’d worked on other critically acclaimed productions like Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners. Add in The Hobbit trilogy of films and his role as a writer/producer on films like the 2018 Mortal Engines, Jackson has easily built his wealth up to $500 million. Few people might know him as a Marky Mark which was his stage name as a rapper and songwriter. Thankfully, Mark Wahlberg found his way to Hollywood and his list of appearances includes Boogie Nights, The Italian Job, The Departed, and The Other Guys. As a producer, he’s behind four HBO shows that he’s executive-produced, including Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, Make It In America and Ballers. Expect to see him in the 2019 movie Wonderland which he also produced. Walhberg’s long portfolio of showbiz work has earned him $255 million throughout his career with presumably more to come.

 Leonardo DiCaprio – $245 Million

If there’s an actor who was long overdue for an Oscar recognition, it’s Leonardo DiCaprio. He got the Best Actor nod at the 2016 Academy Awards for his role on The Revenant. DiCaprio’s list of credits include What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Gangs of New York, The Man in the Iron Mask, Catch Me if You Can, and Inception. In fact, the list is pretty long, and in 2019, he’s slated to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. As a producer, he’s behind projects like Greensburg, Orphan, and The Ides of March. DiCaprio is in his mid-40s, has ‘some’ $245 million, and is nowhere near the retirement planning age.

George Clooney – $500 Million

He’s our favorite Batman but George Clooney has a long resumé throughout his 40-year career. Clooney has bagged two Academy Awards and three Golden Globes to date, and in 2018, at just 57, he added an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award to that list. Clooney’s role as Dr. Doug Ross on the NBC medical drama ER gave him wide recognition, leading to breakthrough roles in films like From Dusk till Dawn and Ocean’s Eleven. With estimated accumulated earnings of $500 million, it isn’t a surprise that he has been featured in the annual Time 100 list by Time magazine many times.

 Bjorn Ulvaeus – $300 Million

The name Bjorn Kristian Ulvaeus might not sound familiar, but add in ABBA to the mix and it all lines up. The Swedish songwriter and producer was a member of the globally popular ’70s  band ABBA which disbanded in 1982. Ulvaeus lent his expertise to the band’s repertoire of music as a co-producer of 2008’s musical rom-com Mama Mia! He’s managed to build himself a $300-million fortune but in 2005, he was in trouble over back taxes. Ulvaeus apparently owed an estimated $12.8 million to the Swedish Tax Agency and as a precaution, he decided to pay up. After two and a half years, a county administrative judge ruled that Ulvaeus never owed that sum – ouch!

Jessica Alba – $350 Million

Jessica Alba’s acting career started when she was 13 but it wasn’t until her lead role in the cyberpunk TV series Dark Angel that she rose to prominence. She made her big-screen debut in 2003 on Honey and went on to appear in numerous box office hits like the Fantastic Four series of movies. In 2012, she co-founded a non-toxic household goods startup called The Honest Company alongside her friend, Chris Gavigan. As of 2014, the company’s worth was $1 billion and its success contributed to a chunk of Alba’s $350-million wealth. Alba and Gavigan have continued growing the business and in 2015, they launched a collection of skin care products under Honest Beauty.

Taylor Swift – $320 Million

She’s best known for belting out some of the best narrative songs which have earned her numerous accolades and an estimated $320 million fortune to boot. We are talking about Taylor Swift who doesn’t shy off from exploiting her personal life experiences to pen down some of the most relatable and catchy tunes. At just 29, she’s considered amongst the leading contemporary recording artists in the world and she also holds six Guinness World Records. Swift also makes some of her cash from product endorsements, including AT&T. In 2018, she also partnered with Fujifilm to release a special-edition autographed Instax camera.

Victoria Beckham – $450 Million

Those of us who grew up as fans of the British music group Spice Girls always secretly wish that they’d get back together. Well, Victoria Beckham was part of the popular girl band as “Posh Spice,” but she’s since moved on to even greater things. She’s now a successful entrepreneur and fashion designer worth $450 million which regularly lands her on Britain’s richest women lists. She’s also quite charitable and in fact, she met her husband David Beckham at a 1997 charity football match. The two also splurge their well-earned fortunes on luxuries like their massive art collection worth an estimated $40 million.

James Patterson – $800 Million

Author James Patterson has sold over 300 million copies of his publications and he boasts of being the first person to have sold 1 million ebooks. He ranked top on the Forbes highest-paid authors list for three succeeding years starting from 2014. Some of his series of work includes Alex Cross, Women’s Murder Club, and Private. As of 2019, his estimated wealth is $800 million and as a philanthropist, Patterson spends most of his fortune on various causes. His generosity had led him to donate books, establish libraries, and offer scholarships to various schools. Some of Patterson’s works have been adapted to films and TV shows, including Alex Cross, Zoo, and Instinct in 2018.

Bono – $700 Million

At just 16, Irish singer-songwriter Bono formed the popular rock band U2. As the band’s frontman, Bono has earned 22 Grammys and he also became a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Bono has also worked on several collaborations with other artists outside the band and he’s also a managing partner and director of Elevation Partners, a private equity firm. Forty-two years later and he’s amassed a personal fortune of $700 million, and Bono is very generous with his wealth. He supports social justice causes both as part of the band and individually, geared towards eradicating poverty and providing sensitization about AIDS.

Chuck Lorre – $800 Million

What do the hit sitcoms The Big Bang Theory, Mom, and Two and a Half Men have in common? Well, they have Chuck Lorre as the genius behind them, earning the 66-year-old TV writer/producer the nickname the “King of Sitcoms.” Before venturing into TV, Lorre toured the US as a songwriter and guitarist. He contributed to singer/songwriter Deborah Harry’s Rockbird album by penning her hit French Kissin in the USA. Lorre shifted to writing soundtracks and eventually scripts for TV shows, starting with Roseanne. More than three decades and several hit shows later, Lorre is worth an incredible $700 million. Lorre and his current wife Arielle had their wedding in September 2018.

Jackie Chan – $370 Million

Datuk Chan Kong-sang aka Jackie Chan is an acclaimed martial artist, actor, producer, director, and stuntman. Chan’s acrobatic fighting style combined with his comedic timing are some of the things that make us enjoy his films. Since the ’60s, he’s said to have appeared in more than 150 films, helping him build up a  $370-million fortune. His films include The Karate Kid, The Tuxedo, the Rush Hour films, and the three Kung Fu Panda movies. Chan is also a successful Mandopop and Cantopop star with several number one albums that contribute to his wealth. As Forbes’ 5th highest-paid star worldwide, don’t expect to hear about Chan going bankrupt in this lifetime.

Dr. Dre – $820 Million

Dr. Dre is a well-off rapper with a fortune of $820 million. He is the man behind the discovery of some of the top artists like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. After closing his deal with Apple, his first purchase was a cool mansion in LA. Dre had put up a boast post on Instagram bragging about his daughter’s admission to USC without scamming or bribing her way in. However, he had to remove the post after fans reminded him of the $70-million donations he made to the school in 2013.

James Cameron – $700 Million

The creative force behind some of the biggest visual breakthroughs, including Aliens, Rambo II, The Terminator, Avatar, True Lies, and Titanic, James Cameron has amassed an enormous fortune over the years. His current wealth is estimated at $700 million. Cameron’s career continues to thrive with his latest work Alita: Battle Angel grossing $400 million as of March 24, 2019, a few days after its release. There are already talks about this film leading to multiple sequels. James’s divorce lawyer “slacked” on the job when he was divorcing Linda Hamilton, forcing him to pay a hefty $50-million settlement.

Jay-Z – $930 Million

Jay-Z aka Shawn Carter is soon joining the billionaire club with his fortune of $930 million. Carter’s earnings have been increasing yearly from $34 million in 2007 to $76.5 million in 2018. The majority of his wealth comes from his fashion line, endorsements, records, concerts, and multiple investments. In 2019, Jay-Z’s Blueprint album will be added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry – a registry honoring soul-enriching music. The album that was released in September 2001 went on to earn chart-topping success, solidifying Jay-Z’s reputation as the greatest rapper of all time.

P Diddy – $855 Million

Sean Combs or P. Diddy is another rapper on the race to the $1-billion fortune mark, with his wealth of $850 million. With such a huge fortune to his name, we can only imagine the kind of lavish lifestyle he leads. One of the things that Sean is not afraid of showing off is his massive car collection made up of some of the most expensive automobiles. In 2018, after breaking up with Cassie, his long-time girlfriend, and dating model Jocelyn Chew for a couple of months, Diddy made a video on Instagram stories claiming that he is single again.
