What do the hit sitcoms The Big Bang Theory, Mom, and Two and a Half Men have in common? Well, they have Chuck Lorre as the genius behind them, earning the 66-year-old TV writer/producer the nickname the “King of Sitcoms.” Before venturing into TV, Lorre toured the US as a songwriter and guitarist. He contributed to singer/songwriter Deborah Harry’s Rockbird album by penning her hit French Kissin in the USA. Lorre shifted to writing soundtracks and eventually scripts for TV shows, starting with Roseanne. More than three decades and several hit shows later, Lorre is worth an incredible $700 million. Lorre and his current wife Arielle had their wedding in September 2018.

Mike Tyson – $3 Million

Although he’s earned an incredible amount of money with his career, Mike Tyson’s current fortune is estimated to be at just around $3 million. The character Han Solo in Star Wars gave Harrison Ford his break in the industry followed by the title role in the Indiana Jones series of movies. Ford has appeared in five out of the top 30 highest-grossing movies at the U.S. box office, which explains why he boasts of a $230-million fortune. Six decades later and he’s still very active in the industry, and at 76, don’t expect him to take up residence at a retirement home. Ford’s upcoming list of credits includes the 2019 film Call of the Wild and an Indiana Jones sequel scheduled for release in 2021.

Paul McCartney – $1.2 Billion

Sir Paul McCartney, one of the richest recording artists in the world, has a net worth of $1.2 billion. Nearly ½ a century after The Beatles broke up, Paul remains top of the pop game selling out ballparks and arenas at will. McCartney will probably end up making more money with the release of Let It Be – a Beatles documentary that Sir Peter Jackson will direct. Cameron Diaz has been a part of Hollywood culture since the ‘90s when she first started appearing in hit movies such as The Mask. Born back in 1940, Ricky Nelson took America by surprise with his talents both in acting and singing.  Songs like Travelin’ Man and I Will Follow You made his voice unforgettable while his show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet that aired between 1952 and 1966 made him a face to remember. Carey hasn’t let the fact that she’s undergoing bipolar treatment slow her down one bit.

Few people might know him as a Marky Mark which was his stage name as a rapper and songwriter. Thankfully, Mark Wahlberg found his way to Hollywood and his list of appearances includes Boogie Nights, The Italian Job, The Departed, and The Other Guys. As a producer, he’s behind four HBO shows that he’s executive-produced, including Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, Make It In America and Ballers. Expect to see him in the 2019 movie Wonderland which he also produced. Walhberg’s long portfolio of showbiz work has earned him $255 million throughout his career with presumably more to come.

 Leonardo DiCaprio – $245 Million

If there’s an actor who was long overdue for an Oscar recognition, it’s Leonardo DiCaprio. He got the Best Actor nod at the 2016 Academy Awards for his role on The Revenant. DiCaprio’s list of credits include What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Gangs of New York, The Man in the Iron Mask, Catch Me if You Can, and Inception. In fact, the list is pretty long, and in 2019, he’s slated to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He’s our favorite Batman but George Clooney has a long resumé throughout his 40-year career. Clooney has bagged two Academy Awards and three Golden Globes to date, and in 2018, at just 57, he added an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award to that list. Clooney’s role as Dr. Doug Ross on the NBC medical drama ER gave him wide recognition, leading to breakthrough roles in films like From Dusk till Dawn and Ocean’s Eleven. With estimated accumulated earnings of $500 million, it isn’t a surprise that he has been featured in the annual Time 100 list by Time magazine many times.

 Bjorn Ulvaeus – $300 Million

The name Bjorn Kristian Ulvaeus might not sound familiar, but add in ABBA to the mix and it all lines up. The Swedish songwriter and producer was a member of the globally popular ’70s  band ABBA which disbanded in 1982. Ulvaeus lent his expertise to the band’s repertoire of music as a co-producer of 2008’s musical rom-com Mama Mia! He’s managed to build himself a $300-million fortune but in 2005, he was in trouble over back taxes. Ulvaeus apparently owed an estimated $12.8 million to the Swedish Tax Agency and as a precaution, he decided to pay up. After two and a half years, a county administrative judge ruled that Ulvaeus never owed that sum – ouch!

Jessica Alba’s acting career started when she was 13 but it wasn’t until her lead role in the cyberpunk TV series Dark Angel that she rose to prominence. She made her big-screen debut in 2003 on Honey and went on to appear in numerous box office hits like the Fantastic Four series of movies. In 2012, she co-founded a non-toxic household goods startup called The Honest Company alongside her friend, Chris Gavigan. As of 2014, the company’s worth was $1 billion and its success contributed to a chunk of Alba’s $350-million wealth. Alba and Gavigan have continued growing the business and in 2015, they launched a collection of skin care products under Honest Beauty.

Taylor Swift – $320 Million

She’s best known for belting out some of the best narrative songs which have earned her numerous accolades and an estimated $320 million fortune to boot. We are talking about Taylor Swift who doesn’t shy off from exploiting her personal life experiences to pen down some of the most relatable and catchy tunes. At just 29, she’s considered amongst the leading contemporary recording artists in the world and she also holds six Guinness World Records. As of 2019, his estimated wealth is $800 million and as a philanthropist, Patterson spends most of his fortune on various causes. His generosity had led him to donate books, establish libraries, and offer scholarships to various schools. Some of Patterson’s works have been adapted to films and TV shows, including Alex Cross, Zoo, and Instinct in 2018.

At just 16, Irish singer-songwriter Bono formed the popular rock band U2. As the band’s frontman, Bono has earned 22 Grammys and he also became a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Bono has also worked on several collaborations with other artists outside the band and he’s also a managing partner and director of Elevation Partners, a private equity firm. Dr. Dre – $820 Million

Dr. Dre is a well-off rapper with a fortune of $820 million. He is the man behind the discovery of some of the top artists like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. After closing his deal with Apple, his first purchase was a cool mansion in LA. Dre had put up a boast post on Instagram bragging about his daughter’s admission to USC without scamming or bribing her way in. However, he had to remove the post after fans reminded him of the $70-million donations he made to the school in 2013.

James Cameron – $700 Million

The creative force behind some of the biggest visual breakthroughs, including Aliens, Rambo II, The Terminator, Avatar, True Lies, and Titanic, James Cameron has amassed an enormous fortune over the years. His current wealth is estimated at $700 million. Cameron’s career continues to thrive with his latest work Alita: Battle Angel grossing $400 million as of March 24, 2019, a few days after its release. There are already talks about this film leading to multiple sequels. James’s divorce lawyer “slacked” on the job when he was divorcing Linda Hamilton, forcing him to pay a hefty $50-million settlement.

Jay-Z – $930 Million

Jay-Z aka Shawn Carter is soon joining the billionaire club with his fortune of $930 million. Carter’s earnings have been increasing yearly from $34 million in 2007 to $76.5 million in 2018. The majority of his wealth comes from his fashion line, endorsements, records, concerts, and multiple investments. In 2019, Jay-Z’s Blueprint album will be added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry – a registry honoring soul-enriching music.
