She also served as the Secretary of labor under the Bush administration. All while her husband Mitch McConnel served as the U.S. senator for Kentucky, a position he has held since 1985. He has also been chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee served as senate minority and senate majority leader. They have been married since 1993 and co-parent McConnell’s three children from a previous marriage.
