In February 2021, American politician and attorney Bob Dole made his stage four lung cancer diagnosis public. According to the White House, President Joe Biden paid him a visit that month after hearing about the unfortunate news. Between 1969 and 1996, Dole served as the Kansas representative for the United States Senate. And in the last 11 years of his tenure, he worked as the Republican Leader of the U.S. Senate and was Senate Majority Leader for three nonconsecutive years. With his current condition, the Congressional Gold Medal awardee is lucky to have his wife, former North Carolina U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole, by his side.
